What It’s Like To Date Someone With Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)

People with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can be incredibly charming and attractive. They often have a lot of charisma and can be very seductive. However, dating someone with BPD can also be incredibly difficult and frustrating.

People with BPD can be emotionally unstable and have difficulty regulating their emotions. They may feel happy one moment and then sad or angry the next. They can also be very impulsive and engage in risky behaviors. This can be very challenging for their partner.

People with BPD may also have a lot of abandonment issues. They may feel that their partner is going to leave them at any moment, and this can cause a lot of anxiety and insecurity. They may also be very sensitive to any criticism and can react very strongly.

Dating someone with BPD can be a lot of work, but it can also be very rewarding. If you are able to understand and accept their quirks and mood swings, you can have a very fulfilling relationship. It is important to be patient and understanding, and to never take their behavior personally. If you can do that, then you can have a successful relationship with someone with BPD.

If you are considering dating someone with Borderline Personality Disorder, it is important to educate yourself about the condition. There are many great books and websites that can help you understand what you are getting into. It is also important to have a good support system, so you have someone to turn to when things get tough.

Dating someone with Borderline Personality Disorder can be a challenging but rewarding experience. If you are up for the challenge, then go for it! But be sure to educate yourself first, so you know what you are getting into.

I believe choosing to date someone with Borderline Personality Disorder is a big risk. BPD (or any of the personality disorders, which the professionals call axis II diagnoses) is difficult to be around. Ask any psychiatrist worth his salt, and (s)he’ll tell you (s)he’d rather work with a psychopathic killer than an axis II. A great example of an axis II diagnosis is our former president (though not Borderline, per se, he was/is a classic Narcissistic Personality Disorder). While different in some ways, axis II personalities have one thing in common. Nothing is ever their fault (by their perception). This makes them VERY difficult to be around. If you fall for an axis II, be ready for some SERIOUS mood swings. Not to tell other folks how to live, but dating an axis II is not highly recommended.
